Chocolate Pudding Recipe
Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding (all time favourite)
Delicious pudding with a scrumptuous thick rich chocolate sauce bottom.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
1 cup flour
¾ cup sugar
1 ½ tablespoons Cadbury cocoa (or similar)
2 tablespoons melted butter
Pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup chopped walnut or sultanas (optional)
Mix flour, salt, sugar, cocoa, baking powder together. Add milk, melted butter and unbeaten egg and vanilla essence. Mix well and place into a greased casserole dish or similar. Sieve together ¾ cup brown sugar and ¼ cup of cocoa and sprinkle on top of mixture. Add optional walnuts or sultanas, then pour over mixture 2 cups of boiling water.
Bake in a preheated oven 170ºc for approximately 50 minutes. Serve hot or cold with whipped or double cream and icecream. Serves 6- 8 people
